Great Nevada ShakeOut

Do you know what to do in the event of an earthquake? The City of Henderson will join participants throughout the state taking part in the 2019 Great Nevada ShakeOut earthquake drill at 10:17 a.m. on Thursday, October 17.
The Great Nevada ShakeOut is a statewide earthquake drill designed to inspire Nevadans to get ready for big earthquakes. The exercise will occur in houses, public spaces, and businesses throughout Nevada. Everyone is asked to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” for several seconds as they would if there were an earthquake.
This is one of several events the City participates in throughout the year as part of its ongoing emergency preparation efforts, which includes the Get READY! Stay READY! program that teaches residents how to prepare for disasters.
