Fun Holiday Activities in Las Vegas to Explore This Season

Are you and your family looking for some fun holiday activities in Las Vegas and Henderson to round out 2019? November and December are filled with unique experiences that you can only find on the Strip and its neighboring cities. From dazzling lights to cactus gardens, we’ve compiled a list of some of the many events happening in Las Vegas and Henderson to help you celebrate the holiday season.

Glittering Lights

November 8 – January 5 | Tickets start at $20

Nothing says the holidays quite like a light display. Glittering Lights is Nevada’s premier drive-thru light show that takes place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This holiday spectacular features more than three million LED lights and 500 animated displays intertwined throughout the 2.5-mile speedway course. CNN Travel even named this Vegas tradition one of the best places to see Christmas lights in the United States.

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

December 7 – January 4 | Free Admission

For the holiday season, the Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens takes on a snowy winter theme complete with more than 28,000 fragrant poinsettias. Gaze at the 42-foot Christmas tree decorated with twinkling lights and ornaments or commemorate your visit to this Vega tradition with the perfect photo op. There is even a train running through the display with a camera so you can watch as it completes its route.

Holiday Cactus Garden at Ethel M Chocolate Factory

November 5 – January 5 | Free Admission

Ready to walk off all those calories from sampling tasty chocolate treats? The 3-acre Botanical Cactus Garden, located adjacent to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory, features more than half a million lights, chocolate houses, sculptures, and more. Visitors can walk the grounds of this winter wonderland complete with Santa visits and carolers.

Magical Forest at Opportunity Village

November 29 – January 4 | Starts at $15

The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland filled with endless holiday cheer! Enjoy millions of sparkling lights and a synchronized music show that can be seen throughout the park. Buddy the Elf and his crew will also be a part of the festivities this year with two performances each Saturday in December. Top off your evening of holiday fun with a visit to Santa to tell him what you have on your Christmas list.

City of Henderson WinterFest

December 13-14 | Free Admission

Of course, you don’t have to travel to the Strip to enjoy family-friendly holiday activities. The City of Henderson will transform Water Street District into a dazzling celebration, complete with craft and food vendors, live entertainment, and much more. Additionally, the festival will include an official tree-lighting ceremony with Mayor Debra March and Santa. Don’t miss your chance to experience a fun-filled weekend topped off with a spectacular light parade on Sunday evening.

Cowabunga Bay Christmas Town

November 29 – December 31 | Tickets start at $20

Experience a nighttime winter wonderland featuring one-of-a-kind entertainment and attractions. For the winter months, Cowabunga Bay transforms into Christmas Town, which includes over three million twinkling lights that illuminate the park with holiday magic. Enjoy fun activities like the Under the Mistletoe Skating Rink, Polar Express Train Ride, and Jingle Bell Sledding Hill. You can even engage in a paintball shootout with the Grinch and Abominable Snowman for an additional fee.
