Sometimes you don’t have time to get to the gym, but that doesn’t mean you have to skip a workout. Exercise band training is an ideal way to get a quick workout in when you can’t make it to your local gym. Exercise bands — also called resistance bands — are a versatile strength training tool with low impact and low intensity.
Are you ready to get started? Explore our guide to learn more about the different types of resistance bands, along with a great exercise band workout you can do anywhere.
Where Should I Do Exercise Band Training?
The best part about a resistance band workout is that you can exercise virtually anywhere. If you want to enjoy the freedom of the outdoors while you workout, grab a few bands and head on over to Inspirada’s Aventura Park. Here, you’ll find plenty of room to complete your resistance band training. You can also connect with the rest of our fitness-minded community and make a new workout buddy while you’re at it.
Before you get started, though, you’ll want to make sure you have the right equipment. There are quite a few exercise bands on the market, so it’s important to choose the right type of band to suit your fitness needs:
Sheet Bands
Sheet bands are flat rather than tube-shaped and typically don’t have handles. These types of bands are often used for physical therapy and rehabilitation exercises.
Compact Exercise Bands
These tube-shaped bands — sometimes called fit bands — are the most popular type of fitness band and tend to be the most versatile. Compact exercise bands can be used to train the upper body, arms, or lower body. They commonly come with carabiners, so you can attach different handles and bars to them to give you that full-gym experience.
Fit Loop Bands
These bands look the most like your typical rubber band. They form a complete loop, making them an excellent option for lower body and leg workouts.
