Join recent Clark County Poet Laureate Heather Lang-Cassera to write some ecopoetry! Explore nature and ecology via poetry in a fun, supportive environment. No creative writing experience is required.

Plant your roots and pen. Discover something compelling about the environment living, thriving, or surviving around us. Follow acclaimed local poet, Heather Lang-Cassera, on a hike through the natural world, using prompts and exercises to better understand our surroundings.

Heather Lang-Cassera (she/her) is a full-time Lecturer with Nevada State College, a 300 Days of Sun Faculty Advisor, and a Clark County, Nevada Poet Laureate Emeritus. She was a 2022 Nevada Arts Council Literary Arts Fellow. She has been published widely including as the author of Gathering Broken Light (Unsolicited Press, 2021), which was written with the support of a Nevada Arts Council grant and won the NYC Big Book Award in Poetry, Social/Political.

This program is part of James I. Gibson Library’s Poetry Palooza series celebrating National Poetry Month.
