The Inspirada Social Science Book Club invites you to join their September meeting. The topic for the month is the U.S. public education system, and they will be reading and discussing “Reign of Error: The Hoax of the Privatization Movement and the Danger to America’s Public Schools” by Diane Ravitch. A group of educational activists from Nevada will be at the meeting to share information and answer questions about the Clark County School District (CCSD) and the Nevada public school system. If you work or worked in education, the club would love to have you share your perspective. For parents with children in CCSD, this is a chance to ask questions and learn about some of the current issues facing CCSD. As always, feel free to come and participate even if you don’t have a chance to read the book.
