This moderate hike starts at Sloan Canyon Contact Station and covers approximately 5 miles on the 100 and 200 trails. The hike takes place along a sandy wash and rocky terrain with switchbacks, but does not involve climbing. A park ranger talks about human history in the Las Vegas Valley and provides insight into the more than 1,700 petroglyphs in Sloan Canyon. No pets. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring 2 liters or 64 ounces of water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a snack. Youth (under 18 years) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Registration is required.
