Was one of your resolutions to maintain a healthier lifestyle, including being conscious of what you eat?
There’s no shortage of fun and unique restaurants in our Henderson community. But what if you’re trying to stick to a healthy lifestyle and diet?
Henderson has many health-conscious options to choose from, so you won’t have to worry about your no-cook night turning into a cheat meal.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this place has something for everyone. The gluten-free wraps and vegan smoothies are not only filling and full of goodness, but the cost won’t hurt your wallet either.
What to order: The Umami Bowl is a popular dish at Purple Potato. This dish features kale, quinoa, roasted sweet potato, bean sprouts, edamame, kikurage, avocado, mixed nut “sprinkle,” and sesame orange miso dressing. It’s gluten-free and vegan.
Is one of your goals to limit or remove meat from your diet? VeggiEAT Xpress in Henderson serves up an entirely vegan menu. Offerings range from curries, Vietnamese sandwiches, stir-fried noodles, popular Asian dishes like General Tso’s, “sushi,” and more. Many of the dishes include a healthy portion of colorful veggies. Plus, there’s a gluten-free menu.
What to order: Many love their “beef” options and you should order some “sushi” if you’re visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Try your best to avoid dishes that feature fried elements to keep a healthy waistline.
Another Vegas favorite has made a name for itself in Henderson. With two Henderson locations (The District and Warm Springs Promenade), Rachel’s Kitchen serves traditional fare with a fresh and healthy twist.
The casual setting and fresh-brewed Peet’s coffee (as well as the plethora of smoothie and juice options to pick from) makes this a great hang out spot. Time to catch up with an old friend?
What to order: The Smoked Turkey and Avocado Sandwich has smoked turkey, avocado, swiss cheese, mixed greens, tomatoes, and chipotle mayo. Pick the mixed green salad as your side for a healthy and filling meal.
This next spot wins a place in our hearts based solely on the creative names for their dishes. From the Mac Daddy Burger to the Holy Mole, these guys know how to have fun. Luckily for all of us, they also know how to make a good meal. Those with food allergies will appreciate the care this establishment will take to work with your dietary restrictions.
What to order: The Pamela Anderson is collard-green tortillas filled with ground walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes, and sunflower seeds and topped with jicama slaw and chili vinaigrette.
Fans of Chipotle will love Hummus simply due to how similar their concept is: an assembly line where you select what to add to either your bowl or wrap. However, Hummus stands out by offering a ton of more options to fill your bowl (or wrap). Personally, we are a big fan of their fennel apple straw topping.
What to order: Make a pita wrap or hummus bowl perfectly to your liking.
If you’re wanting to stay closer to home, Jolly Beans offers up some healthy options like their vegetarian breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, and their green thumb breakfast bagel.
And, if you’re wanting to cook something at home, the Fresh52 Farmers’ Market at Inspirada is a great spot to pick up some fresh produce; find the upcoming dates for the markets on our calendar.
