Go Beyond a Henderson Park: 6 Things to Do in Henderson With Your Dog

Visiting a Henderson park is just one of many options Inspirada residents have when looking for something to do with their canine companion. Whether you enjoy hiking, shopping, or simply kicking back and enjoying family time: we have six recommendations on fun activities you can do with your dog in Henderson, NV.

“Treat” Them Like Royalty

Your dog is fabulous, so giving them a run-of-the-mill treat doesn’t cut it. Head to Woof Gang Bakery or Bogarts Bone Appetit to grab a gourmet treat for your furry friend. Both of the locations have items like dog cookies and even cakes for celebrating milestones.

Afraid you’ll be too tempted to eat one of those dog cookies on the way home if you don’t get a treat for yourself too? At The Mad Batter Café and Bakery, you can find human treats, like cupcakes and cookies, as well as house made dog treats. Enjoy your treats together on the dog-friendly patio.

Get Your Veggies

On the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, the Fresh52 Farmers Market is held at Inspirada’s Solista Pavilion from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests of the market are encouraged to bring their pups along and discover community, locally grown and made items, and special activities. Check out our events calendar to see what we have going on at the markets this month.

Shop Till You Drop

The District at Green Valley Ranch is a dog-friendly shopping environment. Bowls with fresh water are placed throughout the shopping community for your dog to stay hydrated and the project also includes wide walkways and benches.

Just Add Cucumber Slices

Did you know your dog can get a facial? Technically, this isn’t an item you can do with your dog, but we found the concept of dropping off your furry friend for a spa treatment and scheduling a human facial for yourself at the same time very appealing and kind of adorable.

Lulu’s Doggy Salon and Spaw, The Soggy Dog, The Paw Spa, and Lazy Dog Grooming are just some of the few establishments in Henderson that offer blueberry facials for your dog.

Get Outside

Many Henderson parks are dog-friendly. Dos Escuelas Dog Park, Sonata Park, and Sunset Park are all a quick drive from Inspirada community. Additionally, within the Inspirada community sits four parks that are perfect for enjoying time with the whole family – dogs included. Aventura and Capriola parks each have a dog park where your pup can roam and play.

We live in a beautiful area: hit the trails and view some fantastic vistas with your pup by your side. Both Red Rock Canyon and Fossil Ridge Loop allow dogs on leashes. Our community also backs to the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area where you and your pet can enjoy the 48,438 acres of beautiful Nevada scenery and geologic features.

Add To Your Family

Sometimes the best gift you can give your dog is the gift of a furry companion of their own. The Henderson Animal Shelter always has highly adoptable dogs ready for a home.

Whether you’re visiting a Henderson park, checking out the farmers market, or anything in between, we hope you have a doggone good time. Make sure to check our events page for upcoming activities in Inspirada, as many are dog-friendly!
