Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas [With Items You Likely Have!]

At this point, you’re probably stressing about your Halloween costume. But, don’t do it. Don’t grab your white sheets in desperation and go as a “ghost.”

Instead, go as one of the costume ideas below. The best part? Most of the costumes ideas we’ve gathered have items you can find from your Vegas home.

Bath Time

  • White dress or white shirt and pants
  • Cotton balls
  • Optional items: Rubber ducky, loofah, shower cap

Use some double-sided tape to transform some white pieces of clothing you already own. Add in touches like a shower cap and rubber ducky to finish the costume off.

Hipster

  • Coffee cup from a local coffeehouse
  • Glasses
  • Tattoos (you can use fake tattoos)
  • Converse
  • Jeans
  • T-shirt
  • Cardigan
  • Beanie

Sure, this costume may require you to go to a local coffeehouse, but is that really a sacrifice? We especially like the idea of little ones dressing up as a hipster.

Burglar

  • Black and white striped shirt
  • Blank pants
  • Black Felt
  • Elastic
  • White Pillowcase
  • Black paint

This one has some DIY elements, but even the self-proclaimed “uncrafty” types can easily conquer them. If you’re going to a Halloween event with your family or a group of friends, this can be a fun one to coordinate.

Take the pillowcase and paint a “$” on it. This will be your “money” bag, but you can actually use it for your candy. Next, you’ll need to make a face mask using the black felt and elastic. It’s simple to do, here are some instructions.

Add in that typical “sneaky walk,” by walking on your tip toes and high-knees — plus a few “shhh’s” — to really get into character. Run off each time someone gives you candy or turn towards your fellow bandit and ask “is the getaway vehicle running?”

Bachelor/Bachelorette

  • Cocktail dress or tux
  • Have a red rose
  • Optional: fake engagement ring

A quick trip to the grocery store and donning your best frocks is all that is required for this costume. Go around asking everyone if they’ll accept your rose. If they accept, you can “propose” to them.

*bonus costume idea: have a friend dress as Chris Harrison and have him announce “this is the final rose of the evening” every time before asking someone if they’ll accept the rose.

Catcher in the Rye

  • Catcher’s mitt
  • Rye bread

Dig up your catcher’s mitt from the garage. Stop by the grocery store and pick up a loaf of rye bread. Place the rye bread in your catcher’s mitt. Costume, done.

Self Portrait

  • Empty frame

Take an empty frame and hang the frame on your neck by the wiring.

Throwback Thursday

  • White t-shirt
  • Sharpie, black paper, or adhesive letters
  • Bandage

First, you need to get “Thursday” onto the t-shirt. You can do this by simply writing on the shirt, adding adhesive letters, or cutting out the letters from paper and using double-sided tape. Next, wrap the bandage around your stomach/back. Walk around and moan like you’ve hurt your back.

Iron Chef

  • Clothing iron
  • Chef’s hat, like this one
  • Apron

No cooking skills required for this one. Though, making grilled cheese sandwiches with your iron could be a great party trick.

Your Halloween costume doesn’t need to be expensive or time-consuming. With a little work and some items around your Vegas home, you can have a costume fit for any Halloween gathering. Make sure you get the costume ready by the Inspirada Fall Festival!
