You’re at your Inspirada home, in your pajamas, surrounded by all your closest girlfriends. You’re giggling so hard your stomach hurts. You grab a sweet delectable that is so pretty you almost think twice about taking a bite.
That is what Galentine’s Day is all about!
This “holiday” is celebrated on Valentine’s Day Eve and is dedicated to showing some extra love to all the ladies in your life. This year it falls on a Wednesday and we think the best way to celebrate is inviting your best gal pals over to your Inspirada home for a girls night “out.”
Here’s the recipe for the perfect Galentine’s Day celebration:
Pajamas Only
Tell your friends to come dressed in their favorite pajamas. There’s a level of familiarity that comes naturally when you’re hanging out in your PJs. You’ll be amazed at how simply wearing something you can relax in can make a gathering feel instantly comfortable.
Pinky’s-Up Drinks
What’s better than donning your pajamas for a social event? Sipping on a cocktail worthy of the Queen of England in them. This rose and mint champagne cocktail is pink and features a sprinkling of dried rose petals.
For a non-alcoholic option, brew up some hibiscus tea; the color is a yummy shade of magenta.
Serve the drinks in mismatched teacups.
Belt it Out
These women will support you through thick and thin … so they’re the perfect people to sing karaoke in front of.
With this rose gold, wireless microphone, all that’s left is finding the perfect song. Oh, and maybe some lighters to hold up and sway in encouragement for the brave soul that takes on a ballad.
Instagram-Worthy Food
Part of the fun of Valentine’s Day is the excuse to use excessive amounts of red, pink, hearts, and flowers — lots of times, guys just don’t understand how great that is. But, your girlfriends? You bet they do. So, serve up a menu that is a feast for the eyes and stomach.
Breakfast for dinner anyone? Since the original Galentine’s Day (season 2, episode 16 of Parks and Recreation) included a long brunch planned by waffle-loving Leslie Knope, why not pay homage to the character by whipping up these red velvet waffles? They have a subtle taste of chocolate and not so subtle covering of cream cheese frosting. Take them a step further and add a healthy dose of whipped cream and pink and red heart-shaped sprinkles.
What pairs well with a decadent treat? Another decadent treat.
These strawberry shortcake donuts, with their dreamy-pink frosting, are probably the prettiest thing you’ll eat all year.
Get Creative
Who doesn’t love crafts?! Have some fun craft ideas planned and gather up the materials for you and your friends. As an added bonus, they will act a souvenir of the day.
These heart-shaped bath bombs are simple to make and you can use dried rose petals from the cocktail recipe to dust the top. These beautiful lollipop soaps would make a great addition to any bathroom.
We all know ladies like flowers. Buy a couple of bunches of flowers, craft paper, and string and let your guests make their own mini bouquets to take home.
Write a Thoughtful Note
Finish the festivities off by giving your besties a handwritten note letting them know how much their friendship means to you.
This card and this boxed set of cards are perfect options for the day.
Want a girls night “out” with your little one to celebrate Galentine’s Day? Set up a spot in the backyard for a tea party and stargazing.
Your Inspirada home is the perfect venue to celebrate the women you have in your life. If you want a picture-perfect moment, travel to the Overlook at sunset and snap a photo all together.
