Something exciting is coming to the Inspirada community. KB Home recently broke ground on their ProjeKt, an innovative project meant to push the homebuilder industry to implement new standards and offer features homeowners didn’t even realize they wanted or could have.
In the past, KB Home has done projects like these. The last home was built at Windermere, FL., in 2011 and was named The KB Home Greenhouse: An Idea Home Created With Martha Stewart. The house displayed innovative — for the time — net-zero-energy home features. These sustainable features that KB Home designed and spearheaded have since become synonyms with current, new green homes. So, in essence, these special KB Home projects will give us a glimpse into what to expect in near-future homes.
The ProjeKt was started back in 2016 when the KB Home team brought the concept to the 2016 Greenbuild International Show in Los Angeles. After receiving much acclaim and multiple awards for the project, the team decided to make the concept into reality. We were honored when the Inspirada community was chosen as the site to build the house.
The project focuses on sustainability and features that help improve and support the health and well-being of its inhabitants. Circadian lighting, noise reduction, resilient technologies, sound sleep support, and new standards in quality air and water will be featured, among other exciting and thoughtful features.
The home is tentatively scheduled to be open for the public this October. Our Inspirada community is lucky to have this chance to see the near-future of homes right in the neighborhood.
