Best Places to Grab a Margarita Near Your Henderson Home

Whether you like them spicy, with a salted rim, or fruit-flavored and frozen; a margarita is the perfect way to unwind, cool down, and celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

One of the reasons Henderson is the best place to live is the proximity to great Mexican restaurants and, of course, their margaritas.

While there is no shortage of delicious margaritas to be had in the Vegas Valley, here are the top places you need to have a margarita near your Henderson home.

1. Ghost Donkey

You may have heard whispers about this speakeasy already, but we’re here to support the craze. Ghost Donkey can be found near the Block 16 Urban Food Hall at Cosmopolitan. Look for the unassuming door with the little donkey on it and walk right in.

Inside, you’ll find an eclectic décor and menu. Guests sing the praises of the truffle nachos and carrot nachos. But let’s get to the real star of the show; the Mushroom Margarita. Yep, you read that right.

When was the last time you had a mushroom margarita? Chances are, your answer is probably never. The mushroom adds an earthy element to the citrus concoction. The establishment also serves up their Stealth Margarita, a frozen margarita with notes of cucumber and chili. If you’re not feeling adventurous, order some tequila off their extensive menu or choose another cocktail from their menu.

2. Borracha Mexican Cantina

One of the essentials of a great margarita? Fresh lime juice.

At Borracha Mexican Cantina, they serve up 4 different types of margaritas and every single one is made using fresh lime juice. They also offer unique flavor options that include a Blood Orange Margarita and a Mango Margarita.

Besides margaritas, they also have a large selection of tequila (especially for us reposado lovers), a cocktail menu, and sangria.

For food, guests love the Carne Asada Steak Tacos, the Crispy Dynamite Shrimp Tacos (an appetizer), and their enchiladas.

The ambiance is dramatic, colorful, and lively, with pop art on the floor and dot art that looks like depictions of Mayan gods and creatures. Plus, their motto is “Tequila for the soul. Tacos for the Heart.” — need we say more?

3. El Dorado Cantina

Let’s start by saying El Dorado Cantina has more than 100 different tequilas to choose from.

Now that has had time to sink in, let’s talk about their food. They place an emphasis on sustainability and quality when they pick their ingredients, so their food shines. Their website says, “We believe in sustainably-raised products, which means that all of our beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and fish originate from carefully-selected farms in the U.S. and are free from antibiotics, pesticides, and steroids.”

Plus, for those that avoid gluten, you’ll be shocked at all the dishes that are offered gluten-free. Guests love the Tableside Guacamole and Paco’s Grandma’s Flan.

But, let’s not forget their Jalapeno Margarita. It’s the perfect complement to the delicious food.

4. Juan’s Flaming Fajitas & Cantina

This place has tons of margarita options. Starting with the Manuel’s Margarita, a margarita (with your choice of Fortaleza, Don Julio, Patron, or Milagro) with fresh lime juice, lemon and orange juice, agave nectar, and topped with Grand Marnier.

Or maybe you want something spicy, like their Spicy Tanteo Margarita— which comes with your choice of jalapeño, chipotle, or habanero Tanteo tequila.

If you’re trying to save your calories for the chips and salsa or an order of queso, there’s also a Skinny Margarita made with fresh lime juice.

Not to mention their Frozen Margarita flavor options, their Mezcal Margarita, the tequila flights, the beer and wine menu, the sipping tequilas, or the extensive cocktail offerings.

Don’t forget to save room for some food. Guests love the Bean Dip and the Steak Fajitas (true to their business name, they come out flaming). The atmosphere is laid back and there are plenty of TVs to watch the game and relax. When the weather is right, they open their two glass garage doors and let the outside in.

Two last things: their tortillas are house-made and the patio is dog-friendly.

5. Taco y Taco

You’ve probably have heard about Taco y Taco’s food. Visitors often sing the praises of the Vampiro. This dish is like hard shell tostada sandwich; it features corn tostadas filled with cheese, onion, cilantro, salsa, and your choice of meat or veggies. Or maybe you know about the Mexican Corn on the Cob (with mayonnaise, cotija cheese, and chili powder) or their Lengua (beef tongue) Taco.

But here’s where most people miss out: they don’t order a margarita. That’s because, for some reason, the margarita is like an insider secret. For those in the know, they describe the margaritas as “amazing,” “tasty,” “on point,” “phenomenal,” and “THE BEST” — need we say more?

The atmosphere is relaxed and trendy; you order at the counter and the spot is decorated with lots of white, antique light fixtures, and a tin-like ceiling.

There you have it! These 5 spots are the perfect spot to enjoy a great margarita near your Henderson home. If you’re still hungry, check out this list of must-eats in Henderson.
