Local Restaurants in Henderson to Add to Your Menu

While Henderson is perhaps best known for Lake Las Vegas and the home of the Raiders, it’s also celebrated for its food. From Italian to Thai, restaurants in Henderson serve up a variety of fare that is just as unique as the city itself. Whether you are in the mood for elegant dining or laid-back cuisine, the selection in Henderson is a multi-cultural affair with something for every taste and occasion. Take a look at some of the most popular restaurants in Nevada’s second-largest city to help you navigate the Henderson food scene! (Note: Some restaurants may have dine-in restrictions due to COVID-19.)

Todd’s Unique Dining

Chef and owner Todd Clore’s wine dinners are widely popular among locals and often sell out quickly. Clore also switches up the menu daily to keep foodies coming back to sample new delicious dishes and tried-and-true staples alike. His influences range from the Far East to the Southwest and everywhere in-between. Featured in Zagat Dining Guides, Todd’s Unique Dining’s menu of artfully prepared dishes and seasonal ingredients offers visitors a gourmet experience with a neighborhood feel. We’ve been told you absolutely have to try the Dungeness crab cakes or goat cheese wontons with raspberry-basil sauce when you visit!

Weiss Deli & Bakery

Weiss Deli & Bakery is a casual spot for breakfast offering an extensive menu of traditional deli fare. They even bake a variety of bagels on-site every day! Among its breakfast specialties are potato latkes and blintzes. Their menu of sandwiches includes all the traditional deli meats plus hamburgers, pastrami burgers, hot dogs, and so much more. Don’t forget to try the bakery items before you leave, though! The apple fritters and challah bread are among the local favorites you can’t miss out on!

Gen Korean BBQ House

California’s Gen Korean BBQ House, located in Henderson’s Galleria at Sunset, serves all-you-can-eat meals with add-on specials like edamame and crispy squid legs. Each table is equipped with a grill where guests cook their own entrée selections and choose the marinades to go with it! The menu includes items like the spicy baby octopus, premium top sirloin, and head-on raw shrimp among other favorites. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, Gen Korean BBQ House won’t disappoint!

Penn’s Thai House

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant, located just down the street from the Galleria at Sunset mall, makes everything from scratch — right down to the curry! The crispy garlic chicken is a favorite among customers and features large pieces of crispy chicken bathed in a rich garlic sauce. Panang curry with tofu is another crowd-pleaser! The dish is rich with coconut and has a hint of spice from the red chili. Penn’s Thai House is the perfect spot for a quiet evening accompanied by home-style food.

Straight from Philly

When you dine in at Straight from Philly, you just might walk away thinking the best cheesesteaks originated in Henderson. The owners have Philly roots, and patrons with a keen taste for the real deal can tell you they’ve got this cuisine down pat. Diners can choose from toppings such as peppers and onions, Cheese Wiz, and many other additions — both classic and unique. Straight from Philly serves more than just cheesesteaks, though. Visitors with a hankering for something else can order Angus burgers, hoagies, hot-pressed subs, and gyros. If you’re looking for a little slice of Philadelphia in the West, Straight from Philly is the spot for you!

Hardway 8

Entrepreneurs Bryant Jane and Lyle Cervenka, best known for re-launching the Starboard Track, decided to name Hardway 8 after the 1977 Runnin’ Rebels — the first UNLV team to make it to the Final Four. The interior of the eatery includes wooden bar tops made from salvaged Las Vegas Convention Center bleachers, as well as a jai alai mural and pennant to pay tribute to the era. Chef Johnny Church, formerly at Aureole and the Golden Gaming, hand-crafted the menu which includes a Porchetta sandwich, corned buffalo Reuben, and so much more!
